Daniel "Dan" L. Brantley, 73, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at his home in Vandalia, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 11, 2021, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson, officiating. Burial will follow at Ritter Cemetery, Vandalia, IL, with Military Rites by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post #95, Vandalia, IL and Brownstown VFW Post #9770. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Ritter Cemetery and/or Second Chance Animal Rescue, Vandalia, IL. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. He was born October 28, 1947, in Garden City, MI, the son of Floyd Robert & Berna Lee (Simpson) Brantley. First married Frances Bagwell September 12, 1970, later married Debra Jean Pruett on July 16, 1976, in Vandalia,IL. He worked for Vandalia Street Dept. and then transferred to the Water Dept. as a Level 3 Plant Operator, and was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran.
He is survived by: Wife - Debra Brantley, Vandalia, IL; Sons - Daryl Brantley & Tiffany, Statesville, NC and Justin Brantley & Payton, Vandalia, IL; Brothers - Ray Brantley & Pat, Del City, OK and Marshall Brantley & Valerie, Hillsboro, MO; Sisters - Donna Fortenberry, Mooresville, NC, Sheila Truitt & Orville and Debra Brantley, all of Marion, KY and Rita Philbrick & Don, North Port, FL; Grandchildren - Tyler Brantley & Fiancée Trinity, Mooresville, NC and Andrew Brantley and Camelia Brantley, Statesville, NC; Great Grandchildren - Levi and Casper Brantley; Sister-in-law - Sharon Castle, Waterloo, IL; and Numerous Nephews & Nieces.
