Beril Carl Gillman, age 86, of Ramsey, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born October 17, 1939, in Hillsboro, Missouri, to the late Richard and Lucille (Huskey) Gillman.
Beril was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was united in marriage to Linda Warner Gillman on June 27, 2018, They shared many years of love, travel, and companionship. Together they made their home in Ramsey, Illinois.
He retired from Barry-Wehmiller Industries after years of dedicated service. In his younger years, Beril was known as a talented softball player and throughout his life enjoyed a good game of golf. He had a passion for swing dancing and was an active member of the Moolah Shrine Swing Dance Club of St. Louis. He also enjoyed travelling with his wife, spending time with family and friends, working on model trains, admiring fast muscle cars, and savoring simple pleasures such as fried fish and homemade pies.
Beril was a proud member of Algabil Freedom Masonic Lodge No. 636 and the Moolah Shriners of St. Louis.
He is survived by his loving wife; Linda Gillman, children; Deb Masson, William (Kathy) Gillman, Todd (Lisa) Moreland, and Jeremy Moreland, many cherished grandchildren; Brian Bingaman, Brittany (Dave) Crump, Brett Bingaman, Ashley Masson, Haley Masson, Amanda (Colin) Groves, Melissa (David) Francis, Garrett Gillman (fiancé Katelyn), Kristen (Mike) Simpson, Shannon Winter (fiancé Andrew), and Jax Moreland, thirteen great grandchildren, siblings; Glenda Christakos and Joyce Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Imogene (Charlie) James, Brenda (John) Phillips, Gail (Harold) Kellerman, Richard Gillman, Wayne Gillman, Terry Gillman, and Sandra (Ken) Dorner, and son-in-law; Don Masson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., at the First Baptist Church, in Ramsey, Illinois officiated by Pastor Jeff Shouse. Burial will follow at Ramsey Cemetery in Ramsey, IL. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., also at the church. Memorials may be made out to the Moolah Shriners in St. Louis, MO. Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL is in charge of arrangements. Beril will be remembered for his love of family, his lively spirit on the dance floor, his dedication to his work and community organizations, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. His memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
