Garrel Behrends II Obituary

Garrel Keith Behrends II, 44, of Chicago passed away on March 26, 2022. 

Garrel was born on September 30, 1977 in Downers Grove, IL. During high school, he excelled in swimming and held many school records. After Gary graduated from Buffalo Grove High School, he studied at the University of Illinois. Garrel enjoyed his 20 year career with State Farm Insurance. Recently, Gary became an Agency Owner with Allstate Insurance. 

Gary had a love for travel and enjoyed cruising as well as traveling with friends overseas. He also enjoyed spending time with family in Walt Disney World. Garrel was a huge Chicago Cubs fan and had an affection for cooking as well as fine dining. 

Garrel is survived by his parents Garrel and Carole and his four siblings Christina Smith (Brendan), Holly Behrends, Jennifer Andel (Tim) and Eric Behrends (Maureen). Garrel had 7 nieces and nephews: Easton, Cassidy, Ewan, Chloe, Lillian, Emmett, Vaughn. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and many cousins.

Preceded in death by: Grandparents - Martin Behrends & Norma and Lloyd Lindquist & Edna. 

A private burial will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, IL for immediate family. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on Friday, April 15th in Chicago.
