William "Bill" Haselhorst

William "Bill" Haselhorst, 78, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. 

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Timothy Landskroener & Pastor Mike Walther officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, two hours prior to the service at the church. He was born May 13, 1944, in Saint Louis, MO, the son of Raymond & Cornelia (Goebel) Haselhorst. He married Donna Zirges on April 20, 1968, in Prairietown, IL. He worked as a field representative for Purina before starting his career as an insurance agent; He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran church; He served in the United States Army Reserves; Bill was a member of the Vandalia Lions Club; He was an avid car enthusiast and always tried to promote community attendance at car shows. 

He is survived by: Wife - Donna Haselhorst, Vandalia, IL; Daughters - Kim Ervin & Randy, Mattoon, IL and Gena Kulesza, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Rachel & Katie Ervin, and Justin Kulesza; Sister - Barbara Prater & Stan, High Ridge, MO; Half Brother - Joe Haselhorst, Ballwin, MO; Half-Sisters - Cindy Kahler, Union, MO and Cathy Reggo, House Springs, MO; Step-Sister - Linda Huck, Wildwood, MO.
