Wayne L. Hale, 100, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020, surrounded by family, at his home in Vandalia, IL.
Due to COVID-19 health concerns a Private Graveside Service and Internment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Terry Westerfield, officiating. Memorials: Vandalia Lions Club; First United Methodist Church; and/or CRC - Continuing Recovery Center, Irving, IL. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. He was born January 31, 1920, in Springfield, IL, the son of Wilbur O. & Dorothy (Hahn) Hale. Married Lida Mae Hinds on May 24, 1941, Springfield, IL, she passed away July 9, 2012. He was a retired AT&T Tech; Magician; Antique Dealer; Auctioneer; Scout Leader; Avid Fisherman and a US Navy WW II Veteran. Wayne was a member of First United Methodist Church, Vandalia Lions Club, and Temperance Lodge # 16 AF & AM. He also enjoyed eating at Denny's.
He is survived by: Sons - Cliff Hale & Linda, Morton, IL and Gary Hale, Vandalia, IL; Daughters - Lynn Manley, Morton, IL and Amy Schaal & Greg, Shobonier, IL; Grandchildren - Justin Hale & Vanessa, Jerad Manley & Deana, Ali Klopfenstein & PJ, Emily Behl & Jeff, Ryan Schaal & Claire & Whitney Roberts & Jake; Great Grandchildren - Alex, Kenny, Molly, Gracie, Avery, Charlie, Max, Lily, Michael, Henry, Tucker, Ethan, Owen, and Baby Schaal due in June.
Preceded in death by: Parents; Wife; 2 Brothers - Mel & Glenn; and 1 Grandson - John Manley.
