Unice F. "Faye" Moreland, 80, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019, St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Private Services and Burial will be at a later date in Gilead Cemetery, south of Centralia, IL. She was born, May 5, 1939, in Walnut Hill, IL, the daughter of Donald Eugene Henson and & Almedia Melvina Haney. Married Melvin James Houston January 8, 1955 in Belleville, Illinois, they divorced. Later married Riley Hershel "Mickey" Moreland, November 24, 1972, Carlyle, IL, he passed away February 17, 2006. She was a homemaker, affiliated with the Baptist Faith, and member of American Legion Auxiliary Post # 2011 in Vandalia, IL. Faye enjoyed gardening, woodworking and genealogy. She also enjoyed reuniting adopted people with their loved ones.
She is survived by: 2 Sons - Edward L "Ed" Houston &special friend, Kathy and Bill F. Houston & Amy, all of Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Nicholas A., Christopher R., Joshua T., and Cameron W. Houston, and Amanda L. Shields and Travis D. Duff; Great Grandchildren - Gage A., Brant M., Alyssa L., Paige, Wyatt, Allison R. & Eagan Houston and Blake A. Duff; Brothers - Charles Henson & Sandra and Daniel Henson & Clarise, all of Sterling, IL; Sisters- Brenda Williams, Rock Falls, IL, Wanda Richards, Chesapeake, VA and Wennona Bell & Raymond, Sterling, IL.
Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Son - Melvin Houston; Daughter - Rena Maxwell; and Granddaughter- Kayla D. Houston and 3 Brothers.
