Thomas "Tom" H. Boaz, 97, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Military Rites will be held by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post #95, Vandalia, IL and Brownstown VFW Post #9770. Memorials: Second Chance Animal Rescue, Vandalia, IL. He was born June 26, 1924, in Mayfield, KY, the son of Charles J. & Blanche (Humphrey) Boaz. Married Florene M. Shatz on January 16, 1949, in Mayfield, KY, she passed away March 24, 2012. He worked as a Clothing Sales Rep.; was a US Navy, World War II Veteran; Member of Temperance Lodge #16, A.F.A.M. Vandalia; American Legion Post #95; and Vandalia Country Club; and affiliated with the First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL Tom had a huge heart, he never met a stranger and always had a smile.
He is survived by: Daughters - Ann Emerick, Vandalia, IL and Julie Morgan, Bonita Springs, FL; Grandchildren - Greg Emerick & Ede, St. Peters, MO, Todd Emerick & Tracy, Vandalia, IL and Jill Morgan, Orlando, FL; Great Grandchildren - Zeke, Ella, Jayden, Braxton, Keegan and Harper.
Preceded in death by: His Parents; Wife; Son Infant-James Howard and Brothers- Howard and Jim Boaz.
