Sandra Elizabeth "Sandy" Peyton, 79, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at SBL Fayette County Hospital LTC in Vandalia, IL.

Memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: Vandalia Alumni Association. Sandy was born January 15, 1944, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Robert Kenneth & Harriet (Houston) Snyder. She married Larry Wendell Peyton on December 28, 1966, in Vandalia, IL. She was an English teacher at the Vandalia Junior High School for many years; a member of the First United Methodist Church; a member of the Vandalia Country and Golf Club; and was a girl scout leader for many years.

She is survived by: Husband - Larry W. Peyton, Vandalia, IL; Sons - Mark Peyton & Jennifer, Naples, FL and John Peyton & Danielle, Vandalia, IL; Daughter - Beth Kern & Brian, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Molly Reeter & Dawson, Megan Kern, Conor and Jack Peyton, and Ava and Evan Peyton.

Preceded in death by: Her Parents; and Brother - Ken Snyder.
