Ronald Hunter Obituary

Ronald A. Hunter, 68, of Brownstown, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, MO.

Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded and a private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made in Ron’s memory and will be accepted by the Miller Funeral Home at 831 N. Fifth St, Vandalia, IL, 62471. Ron was born August 1, 1952, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Allen Manford & Mary Rojean "Coffindaffer" Hunter. He married Cindi L. McAlpin on April 28, 1972, in Paducah, KY. Ron was of Christian faith and loved the Lord. He was a bricklayer, U.S. Army Veteran, and a Mason attending the Altamont, IL Masonic Lodge. He was a "Jack of all trades" and could fix anything. Ron also enjoyed many hobbies including working with stained glass, beekeeping, travel, seeking new adventures, panning for gold, and deep sea fishing. He loved to perform, singing and acting in local plays. Ron was very talented, strong willed, and enjoyed helping others along his travels, but most of all he treasured spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by: Wife - Cindi Hunter, Brownstown, IL; Daughter - Veronica Schraer, Brownstown, IL; Sons - Ben Hunter & Stormy, Gordon, NE and Edgar Hunter & Tiffany, Salem, IL; Grandchildren - Max Schraer, Brownstown, IL, Ileigh Hunter, Gordon, NE and Charlie and Wesley Hunter, Salem, IL; Brothers - Michael Hunter & Karen, Vandalia, IL and Homer Brent Hunter & Joyce, St. Jacob, IL.

Preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Elijah Allen Hunter.
