Roger was born April 21, 1956, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Elvin & Audrey (Hoffman) Roe in Vandalia, IL., the son of Elvin & Audrey (Hoffman) Roe.  Growing up, he enjoyed driving tractors & trucks from a young age and also selling hogs to buy farm toys and eventually his first car. After Roger graduated from Ramsey High School in 1974, he farmed for his family.

Roger and Betty met in 1975, started dating in January ’77, became engaged April ’77, and they married on July 23rd, 1977.  They were rarely seen without each other and their love for one another was unending.  After living in Vera and farming for a few years, Roger and Betty moved to Brownstown and Roger became a mail carrier.  Eventually, he started maintenance operations at Ameren Power Plant and retired this year.

Roger was proud of his children, loved his grandchildren, and adored his fur babies, especially Harley.   Roger was an avid toy tractor collector, a fan of John Deere and Allis-Chalmers, and enjoyed when he could help his family farm. When he wasn’t working or farming, he was guaranteed to be found watching WWE.  Roger loved mowing and going on golf cart rides with Betty.
