J. Paul Smith, 77, of Nokomis, Illinois, formerly of Ramsey, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 2, 2020, at his home, Nokomis, IL.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the First Baptist Church of Ramsey, Ramsey, IL, with Pastor Jeff Shouse, officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the First Baptist Church Ramsey, IL. Memorials: First Baptist Church of Ramsey and/or Baptist Children's Home, Carmi, IL. Born October 8, 1942, in Taylorville, IL, the son of Guy M. & Dorothy Lucille Griswald Smith. Married Claudia Diann King August 16, 1968 in Decatur, IL. He was a Farmer and Truck Driver; former employee at Fayette County Jail, owner/operator of the Ramsey Dairy Dee, and Ramsey Fire Chief; U.S. National Guard; Member of First Baptist Church Ramsey, IL; and former member of American Legion, Lions Club, and School Board, all of Ramsey, IL. Paul was known as the ice cream maker for the entire family.

Survived by: Wife - C. Diann Smith, Nokomis, IL; Daughter - Billie Jo Kepley & Steve, Arcola, IL; Sons - Jay Paul Smith, Gifford, IL, Beau Travis Smith & Whitney, Ramsey, IL, and Jerry Lee Smith, Chippewa Falls, WI; 11 Grandchildren - Kyle, Kayla, Kolten, Tyler, Brianna, Isaac, Chloe, Kabe & Jessica, Drake, Mya and Parker; and 1 Great Grand Child - Mathias; 1 Brother - David M. Smith & Terry of Nokomis, IL; 1 Sister - Ruth Ann Lacey & Dr. Robert of Nokomis, IL.
