Michael James Otto

Michael (Mike) James Otto, 68, of Ramsey, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at SBL Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, IL.

A celebration of life service, beginning with Masonic rites, will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Vandalia Shrine Club, Vandalia, IL. The service will immediately follow, with Rev. Greg LeDuc officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, prior to the service at the Shrine Club. Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL, is in charge of arrangements. Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.millerfh.net. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in St. Louis, Mo. 

He was born February 1, 1956, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Charles Edward & Virginia Frances Marie (McFarland) Otto. He worked as a master machinist at Vanseal for 49 years and 6 months, was a member of Masonic Temperance Lodge 16 AF&AM, Ainad Shriners, member and past president of the Tin Lizzie Patrol; member of Vandalia Lake Club; International Association of Machinists & Aerospace workers; and past member of the Vandalia Moose Lodge.

Survived by: Daughters- Marsha LeDuc & Gregory, Michelle Alstat & Tony, and Megan Rose & Alex, Son - Jonathon Otto all of Vandalia, IL; Special Friend - Angel Wimberly, Ramsey, IL; Her Daughter - Alexus Hossler, Ramsey, IL, 6 Grandchildren; Brother - Phillip Otto, Hillsboro, IL; Sisters - Judy Hardwick & Jerry, Donnellson, IL; and Diane Smith & Stephen, Winslow, IN; Special Nephew - Dian Horn and wife Deanna, Herrick, IL.
