Louie M. Turner, 76, of Ramsey, Illinois, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 12, 2021, at Ramsey Christian Church, Ramsey, IL, with Pastors Larry Daniel and Josh Palma officiating. Burial will follow at Ramsey Cemetery, Ramsey, IL, with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Ramsey Christian Church, Ramsey, IL and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorials: Ramsey Christian Church, and/or Donor's Choice. Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL, is in charge of arrangements. Born October 27, 1944, in Pana, IL, the son of John H. & Verna LaVaughn (Rhodes) Turner. Married Martha Nell Hall on May 1, 1971 in Pekin, IL. He was a Farmer; worked for FS in Tazewell County, Pekin, IL; USDA Office Manager; taught Agriculture at Ramsey High School for one year and three months; Hurst Rosche - Soil Lab; Crane Packing/Forsheda, Vandalia, IL; Fayette County FS; Fayette County Board for 16 years; and retired from GSI; U.S. Army Veteran; Member of Ramsey Christian Church; Sunday School Superintendent at Ramsey First Baptist; and Deacon at First Baptist Church, Pana, IL.
Survived by: Wife - Martha "Marti" Turner, Ramsey, IL; Daughter - Mary Lavonne Hoover & fiancé Matthew Neumann, Vandalia, IL; Daughter-in-law - Valerie Dewey & Doug, Jenison, MI; Sister-in-law - Fran Hall, Pekin, IL; and Grandchildren - Lane and John "JT." Turner, Anthony, Olivia & Karly Stephens.
Preceded in death by: Parents; Son - John Hudson Turner; Brother - John Edwin Turner; and Brother-in-law - Henry "Hank" Hall.
