Lila J. Bone, 87, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, at her home in Vandalia, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at McInturff Cemetery, Rural Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 28, 2022, 1 hour prior to the service at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: Fayette County Cancer Fund, Vandalia, IL. She was born June 23, 1934, in Beecher City, IL, the daughter of Roy & Ethel Irene (Beck) Holman. Married Donald Carroll Bone January 19, 1955, in Vandalia, IL, he passed away December 7, 2002. She worked as a bookkeeper at Nevinger's Decorating and Bone Brothers Milk Hauling, both of Vandalia; former Sunday School Teacher for 40 years; and Homemaker. Lila loved antiques, jigsaw puzzles and watching Fox News. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL.
She is survived by: Daughters - Melissa Baucum & Mike, Vandalia, IL, Melinda Kern & Jim, Mulberry Grove, IL and Rebecca Davis & Joe, Ft. Worth, TX; Grandchildren - Jenny & John Lay, Cody, Brandon and Scott; Great Grandchildren - Natalie June, Devin & Savanah, Bradin and Tyler; Brother - Mike Holman, Vandalia, IL; Sisters - Bessie Hagy, Vandalia, IL, Patti Koonce & Jim, Decatur, IL, Linda Rickman and Carol Metzger & Tom, all of Vandalia, IL; and Several Nephews & Nieces.
Preceded in death by: Her Parents; Husband; 2 Daughters- Melanie and Kathy; Brothers- Billy and Franklin Holman; Sisters- Mary Tompkins, Norma Willis and Helen Nevinger.
