Lewis "Abe" E. Clymer, 90, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana, Illinois.
Per his wishes cremation rites were accorded. A Memorial Services will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Vandalia Christian Academy Facility on 6th. St., Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 1-2 P.M., 1 hour prior to the service. Military Rites by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post #95 & Brownstown VFW Post #9770 will be held at the Vandalia State House Lawn at 3 PM, following the service. Memorials: Vandalia Christian Academy, Second Chance Animal Rescue, and/or the Vandalia Lions Club all of Vandalia, IL. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. He was born April 7, 1931, in Brownstown, IL, the son of William Curtis & Anna Etta (Weaver) Clymer. Married Arlene Marie Wodtke on September 8, 1962, in St. Peter, IL. He was the Owner/Operator of Clymer TV & Appliance, Vandalia, IL; US Army Korean Veteran; Member of Vandalia Lions Club; and Association of Lincoln Presenters - He started presenting Abraham Lincoln in his early 20's.
He is survived by: Daughter - Joy Clymer & Kevin Budny, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Hope & Faith Budny-Clymer; Brothers - Richard Clymer and Carl Clymer & Sherry, all of Vandalia, IL; Several Nephews & Nieces; and Sisters-in-Law - Betty Wodtke and Marilyn Cole & Walter, all of Vandalia, IL.
Preceded in death by: Parents; Wife; Brother - Gene Clymer; Sisters - June Hawley, Mary Ann Ashby & Bettie Davis.
