Leonard R. Rosenkoetter, 89, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL, with Military Rites by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post #95, Vandalia, IL and Brownstown VFW Post #9770. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: National Multiple Sclerosis Society, St. Louis, MO. He was born February 21, 1933, in St. Louis County, MO, the son of Harold Augusta & Charlotte (Kotteman) Rosenkoetter. Married Mary Frances (Borgmann) Rosenkoetter on November 5, 1954, in St. Louis, MO, she passed away February 10, 2012. He retired from P.N. Hirsch Warehouse as Director of Operations; U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict; Member of Vandalia American Legion Post #95; and was recognized by U.S. Deputy Sherriff Association in 2016 as Citizen of the Year.
He is survived by: Sons - Mike Rosenkoetter, Shobonier, IL, Bruce Rosenkoetter, Vandalia, IL and Mark Rosenkoetter & Stacy, Effingham, IL; Daughter - Gail Rosenkoetter, Vandalia, IL; 7 Grandchildren; and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: His Parents; Wife; and 1 Brother - Sonny Rosenkoetter.
