Joann (Anderson) Tessman

Joann Tessman, 90, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, at Greenville Rehab & Healthcare in Greenville, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 10, 2023, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Father Seth Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Mother of Dolors Catholic Cemetery, Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 1 1/2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to: Catholic Charities, Alzheimer's Association, and/or Donor's Choice. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. She was born December 1, 1932, in Shobonier, IL, the daughter of John Leroy & Elizabeth (Frisby) Anderson. She married Herbert R. Tessman on March 25, 1954, in Vandalia, IL. She worked as a Secretary for Washington School, the offices of Judge Kelly and David Marty, and was a member of Mother of Dolors Catholic Church, all of Vandalia, IL.

She is survived by: Husband - Herbert Tessman, Vandalia, IL; Son - Mark Tessman & Lisa, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Levi Tessman & Trista and Luke Tessman & special friend Morgan Cripe; Great Grand Child - Maren Tessman; Sisters - Mary Alender & Clarence, East Alton, IL and Nelda Cearlock & Bob, Vandalia, IL; and Sister-in-law - Sharon Anderson, Vandalia, IL.

Preceded in death by: Her Parents; Sons - Stephen Herbert Tessman and Bradley John Tessman; Brother - John Anderson.
