Jessie "Aunt Mackie" Maxine (Summers) Crager

Jessie Maxine "Aunt Mackie" Crager, 70, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

 

Per her wishes cremation rites were accorded. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Crown Point Church, Rural Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Pete LeDuc officiating. Friends and family may gather at the church at 10:00 A.M.  Memorials: The Crager Family.  Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. She was born September 25, 1949, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of James Henry Francis & Velma Pearl (Jay) Summers. Married Robert Donald  Crager on July 23, 1971 in Vandalia, IL. She was a Homemaker and member of Crown Point Church, Rural Vandalia, IL. Maxine had a wonderful memory, she could always remember everyone's names, dates of events and, even telephone numbers. Everyone called her "Aunt Mackie".

 

She is survived by: Husband - Robert "Bob" Crager, Vandalia, IL; Sisters & Brothers - Janet Womack-Alsbury, Vandalia, IL,  Cora Jackson, Vandalia, IL, Priscella Hieser, Altamont, IL, Leonard Scholes, Vandalia, IL, Danny Scholes, St. Elmo, IL, Gloria Sprague, Shobonier, IL, David Summers, Altamont, IL, Ed Hubbartt, Effingham, IL, and Marsha Hipsher, Vandalia, IL; Step-Sisters - Alice Miles, Vandalia, IL and Mary Sidwell, Centralia, IL; Several Nephews & Nieces; and Several Great and Great Great Nephews & Nieces. 

 

Preceded in death by: Parents; Brothers - James "Jim" Summers, Jackson "Jack" Summers, and Jerry Summers; and Niece - Stormy Alsbury.
