Jerry Bowling

Jerry D. Bowling, 62, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. 

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL with Pastor Robert Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Farmers Cemetery, Rural Shobonier, IL with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (1 hour prior to the service) at the church. Jerry was born August 18, 1959, in Ashland, KY, the son of Curtis & Norma (Stewart) Bowling. He married Tammy Sheree Tomlin on March 21, 1979 in Wise, VA. Tammy passed away on December 29, 2022.  He was retired from the Federal Bureau of Corrections and was currently a Bus Driver for the Central Illinois Bus Services. Jerry was a US Army Veteran; member of Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL.

He is survived by: Mother - Norma Bowling, Zephyrhills, FL; Sons - Jake Bowling & Kristen, and Adam Bowling, all of Vandalia, IL: Daughter - Tara Dothager & Josh, Vandalia, IL; Brothers - Rick Bowling & June, Flatwoods, KY; Michael Bowling & Teresa, Zephyrhills, FL and Sisters - Lisa Damoron & Mike and Angie Wilkey & Jeff, all of Zephyrhills, FL; and Grandchildren - Garrett, Connor, Addy & Griffin. 

Preceded in death by: His Father - Curtis Bowling and Wife - Tammy.
