Evelyn Beatrice Losen Hayes, 98, of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Viera, Florida, passed on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at her home in Charlotte, NC.
Services will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, September 20, 2021, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Rural Ramsey, IL, with Pastor Janis Roorda officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Rural Ramsey, IL, with Military Rites by Anderson-Scroggins Post 460 in Ramsey.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
Evelyn was born on August 24, 1923, in Astoria, OR, the daughter of Carl and Pearl Malena (Jervan) Losen. She married Kenneth McCray Hayes, on September 22, 1945 in Decorah, Iowa, he passed away December 8, 2000.
Evelyn was a retired Army Nurse; US Army Veteran; a member of First Baptist Church, Lincoln Park, MI; and affiliated with Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Ramsey, IL.
She is survived by Son Kenneth Hayes II (Kristin) Charlotte, NC; Daughters Janis Roorda (Bruce) Craig, MO; Lynne Bolinger, Solon, OH; and Kristine Amerson (Stephen) Granada Hills, CA; Grandchildren Sarah Parsons (Bob), Stephen Tobias, Allyson Cochet (Anthony, Jr.), Zachary Bolinger, Katherine Pennington (David), Matthew (Vanessa) Amerson, Brittany Freeman, Ian Hayes, Ashley Gordon (Adam) and Jeffrey Blythe; Great Grandchildren Joshua Stephens, Jared Parsons, Andrew Fewell, Noah Fewell, Camille Cochet, Laurel Cochet, Hudson Pennington, Judah Pennington, Theodore Pennington, Ezra Pennington, Walker Amerson, Aedan Gordon, Elijah Owen and Reagan Gordon; Sister-in-law Joan Losen; and numerous Nephews and Nieces.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband; Brother Carl and Sisters Phyllis and Lois; Daughter-in-law Janelle, Son-in-law Michael; and Grandson Nathan.
