Carolee Boggs Obituary

Carolee Boggs, 83, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018, at Vandalia Rehab Center, Vandalia, IL.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 8, 2018 , at Arm Prairie Christian Church, Rural Brownstown, IL with Pastor Rod Rodgers, officiating. Burial will be at Nichols Cemetery, RFD Brownstown, IL. Memorials: Fayette County Hospice.

She was born, November 1, 1934, in Rural Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Eldon "Ross" & Lydia Ellen (Karr) Carson. Married Edward Eugene "Gene" Boggs on May 12, 1951. Gene passed away October 15, 2011. She was a retired CNA/EMTA at Fayette Co. Hospital. Carolee was formerly employed at the Johnson, Stephens and Shinkle Shoe Factory and the P. N. Hirsch Warehouse. She was affiliated with Crown Point Church, Rural Vandalia, IL.

She is survived by: Sons - Mike E. Boggs & Lynn and Mark Boggs & Lacey, all of Brownstown, IL; Daughter - Mindy Meseke & David, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Rebecca Gene Merkley, Amos Boggs, Megan Larosa, Matt & Calvin Boggs; Great Grandchildren - Kendall, Kenden and Kennedy Merkley, Issac Larosa, Matt & Madyson Boggs; Step Grandchildren - Cameron & Kattie Stanley; Step Gt. Grandchildren - John & Samantha Durham.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Brothers - Bob, Jack & Ronnie Carson; Sisters - Betty Smith and Norma Jean Hall.

Carolee spoke her mind, cursed like a sailor, would flip you the bird and tell you where to go in a heart beat - she did things her way to the end!
