Winfred Gene "Bud" Morrison, age 92, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville, IL.

Bud was born September 21, 1933, the son of Earl Morrison and Telsie Pauline (Dillard) Morrison in Ellington, MO. He married Carol Joice Ritchey on May 22, 1954, in Fillmore, IL, and they shared many wonderful years together. Bud served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at the Vandalia Correctional Center, achieving the title of Lieutenant before his retirement. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Vandalia, IL. Bud was a past Master of the Vandalia Temperance Lodge #16 AF & AM, member of the York Rite Bodies of Southern Illinois, a past High Priest of the Royal ARCH Chapter 136, a past Thrice Eloustrous for the Vandalia Council 28, a past Eminent Commander of the Cyrene Commandry 23, and a member of the Knights of York Cross of Honor.

He is survived by his wife: Carol Morrison of Vandalia, IL, his sons; Choya (Karen) Morrison of Brownstown, IL, and Scott (Karla) Morrison of Greenville, IL, his grandchildren; Justin Morrison & Lara, Jamie (Matthew) Smith, Cody (Kaitlynn) Morrison, and Kyle (Mackenzie) Morrison, his great grandchildren; Emalee, Aiden, Hudson, Carter, Hunter, Kimber, Kolt, Brecklyn, Madison, and Leo, his brother; John Henry (Rose) Morrison of Coffeen, IL, and his brother-in-law; Richard Tedrick of Vandalia, IL.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Kenneth and Guy Morrison, and his sisters; Earlene, Barbara Tedrick and Rosa Lee Haller.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, IL officiated by Pastor Ethan Jones and Pastor Pete LeDuc. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM also at the funeral home. The burial will follow the services at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, IL. Memorial donations can be made out to the First Christian Church of Vandalia, IL. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL is in charge of arrangements.
