Virgil L. "Pat" Green, 85, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016, at Vandalia, IL.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Kurt Simon, officiating. Burial will follow at McInturff Cemetery, Rural Vandalia, IL, with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: Fayette County Cancer Fund.

He was born Virgil Leroy Philip Walter Green but better known as "Pat" by friends and family, April 05, 1931, in Mora, MN, the son of Hiram M. & Edith Ann (Richardson) Green. Married Dorothy Lee Walker on December 22, 1951, in Venice, IL. He was a retired Farmer & U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korea.

He is survived by: Wife - Dorothy Green, Vandalia, IL; Son - Patrick Green & Julie, Vandalia, IL; Daughters - Patty Marler & David, Mulberry Grove, IL and Tammy Lett & Charles, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Seth Marler, Mulberry Grove, IL, Shawna Sprague & David, Samantha Hill & Jacob, Shelby Wehrle & Dalton, Jenna Lett, Rachel Green, and Keith Green, all of Vandalia, IL.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Brothers - Alvin, Cliff, Lester & Bob; Sister - Florence.
