Florence "Verneva" Roberts, 97, of Vandalia, IL, formerly of Ramsey, IL, passed away Saturday, March 05, 2016, at Fayette Co. Hospital, LTC, Vandalia, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey, IL, with Pastor John Glennon, officiating. Burial will follow at Ramsey Cemetery, Ramsey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL. Memorials: Parkview Free Methodist Church and/or Fayette Co. Hosp.- LTC Activity Fund, both of Vandalia, IL.

Verneva was born October 31, 1918, in Bingham, IL, the Daughter of Chester Eugene and Hallie Mae (Lovelace) Halford. She married Walter J. Greenwalt July 5, 1940, in St. Louis, MO, she later married Carl W. Roberts, on April 05, 1997, in Vandalia, IL. She was a Homemaker; a member of Parkview Free Methodist Church, and former member of Fayette Co. Home Extension and Ben Hur Literary Club, all of Vandalia, IL.

She is survived by: Daughters - Sue Neal & George, Morton, IL and Patricia Abarr & Danny, Tucson, AZ; Step-Sons - Dennis Roberts & Joy, Vandalia, IL and John Roberts & Rebecca, Greenville, IL; Step-Daughter - Bertha Cavazos & Sal, Austin, TX; Son-in-law - David Rivers, Tucson, AZ
Sister - Oneida Moreland, Princeton, IL; Grandchildren - Lowell, Lisa, Luke, David, Daniel, Sean, Josh, Sarah, Zach, Josiah & Rachel; Great Grandchildren - Cayla, Brianna & 2 on the way.

Preceded in death by: Parents; 2 Husbands; Son- Walter E. Greenwalt; Daughter- Florence Rivers; Brother- Errott Halford; 5 Sisters- Inez Wilson, Angie Cole, Odessa Wilson, Eithal Hoffman & Eugenia Fisher.
