Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore, IL with Pastor Harry Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, in Fillmore, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home, Fillmore, IL. Memorials: Glendale Cemetery, Fillmore, IL. He was born on January 28, 1925, in Nokomis, IL, the son of Vern Melvin and Mildred Ella (Pottet) Bowers. He married Evelyn Louise Morris on December 18, 1948 in Hillsboro, IL, she passed away September 26, 1991, married Maureen Allen on April 19, 1992, she passed away March 31, 1993, married Ethel Mae Holsclaw on January 3, 1996, passed away on September 20, 2008. Vern was a retired Coal Miner, affiliated with the Baptist faith and World War II Army Veteran. He is survived by 6 Daughters: Margaret Manley & Kent, Ramsey, IL; Sharon Moreland & Carl, Bingham, IL ; Coreena McKavetz & David, Pana, IL; Robin Moreland & Ricky, Ramsey, IL; Tammy Wilson & Bill, Hillsboro, IL; Deanna Litaker & Bobby, Altamont, IL. 1 Sister: Beverly Cloe, Tower Hill, IL; 18 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren & 2 Great Great Grandchildren and Special Friends and Neighbor, Tim & Tonya Prosise, Salem, IL.
