Valeria Joan Reiss - 87, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away at 9:25 pm on December 23, 2020.

A memorial service for Valeria will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Ramsey Christian Church, Ramsey, Illinois, with Pastor Terry Sapp and Joy McClure Lawson, officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior, 10:00-11:00 A.M., at the church. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Fillmore, Illinois.

Valeria was born on October 25, 1933 in Bingham, IL to the late Carl and Edith (Lloyd) Craig. She was a career Postal Employee for 20 years, having served as clerk at the Blue Mound Post Office for many years and later as Officer in Charge of several Central Illinois postoffices. Valeria last served as Postmaster at Assumption, IL before retiring. After retirement she and her late husband James Reiss had great joy in owning and operating the Ramsey Creek Antique Mall in Ramsey, IL. She was a member of Blue Mound Christian Church, Ramsey Christian Church and Antioch Christian Church in Mt. Zion, IL; National Association of Postmasters of the United States; member of the Order of The Eastern Star of Illinois; Moweaqua Rotary Club and a volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital. Valeria enjoyed playingcards and games, dancing, listening to music, traveling and spending time with longtime friendHoward Stombaugh of Decatur, IL. She treasured the time she spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son Rodney (Debbie) Damery of Simpsonville, SC and daughter Renee ( Ed) Bailey of The Villages, FL; stepsons, Mike (Barb) Reiss, Tim (Vicki) Reiss, Danny Reiss, Pat (Gina) Reiss all of Ramsey, IL; step-daughter, Diane (Del) Eastman of Hamilton, OH; 5 grandchildren, Matt ( Kate) Bailey; Melissa (Tim) McCall; Cassie Damery (Chris); Zachary Damery and Logan (Allison) Damery; 8 step-grandchildren, Kaci Reiss; Kyle (Megan) Reiss; Megan Reiss; Zachary Reiss; Peyton, Brady, Charlie, and Max Reiss; 4 great-grandchildren, Payton Damery; Avery and Tyler McCall and Nora Bailey; 3 step great-grandchildren, Kale and Meyer Reiss and Averey Reiss.

She was precededin death by her parents, husband James Reiss, sister Virginia Toberman, brother Val Craig, sister Velma Rose Fesser, former husband Carroll Damery and grandson Andy Damery.
