Tonda Jean Summers, 61, of Altamont, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

She was born November 15, 1963, in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of Jackie Lee & Nelda Rae (Lankston) Purcell. She married David Malone Summers on April 2, 1988, he passed away June 22, 2023. Tonda had a big heart and she loved children. She was a loving mother to her son and devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews. She acted as a second mom to many kids over the years. She enjoyed quilting, listening to audiobooks, and collecting pocket watches, an activity she did with her father.

She is survived by: Son - Jerod Summers & Nicki Scott, Altamont, IL; and Sisters - Deanna Behrman & Tim, Edgewood, IL and Brenda Mitchell & Rusty, Hartford City, IN.

Preceded in death by: Her Parents; Husband; and Grandparents - Marjorie Lankston & Wilbur.
