Stella Elizabeth "Liz" Denning, 94, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, at SBL Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, IL.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL with Dr. Ben Foxworth officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. She was born January 28, 1930, in Hillsboro, IL, the daughter of Lawrence Elsworth & Bonnie Mable (Randolph) Hawley. She married Delmar "Spud" Franklin Denning on October 5, 1947, in Vandalia, IL. he passed away on July 17, 2015. She was a homemaker, affiliated with Bethel Baptist Church, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, both of Vandalia, IL. Liz enjoyed knitting and loved playing bingo.

She is survived by: Sons - Delmar Denning & Donna, Seagoville, TX and Mark Alan Denning, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Cindy, Rachel, Kayla, Clinton, Kacie and Ian; Great Grandchildren - Nick, Tabitha, Cole, Hayley, and Denyla; Great Great Grandchildren - Gracelynn, Gaibe, Treslynn and Zander.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Son - Richard Denning; Daughter - Nancy Forbes; 5 Brothers; and 6 Sisters.
