Shirley J. Jones, 90, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Rural Brownstown, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson, officiating. Friends & Family will gather at 11:45 AM, Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Cemetery. Memorials: Second Chance Animal Rescue. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. She was born August 8, 1929, in Sefton Twp., Fayette County, IL, the daughter of Perry Rollin & Carrie Myrtle (Griffith) Davis. Married Melvin Eugene Jones, February 2, 1949, Vandalia, IL, he passed away November 7, 1979. She was formerly employed at Heritage House, Vandalia, IL; Member of First Baptist Church/Unity, Vandalia, IL. Shirley loved her cat, Nala, taking care of her plants, playing games and keeping up with family and friends.

She is survived by: Sons - Jerry Jones & Janice, Ramsey, IL, Doug Jones & Carol, Grand Junction, CO, Chuck Jones & Patricia, Hagarstown, IL; Daughters - Becky Kolar & Clay, Makanda, IL, Laura Hutton & Don, Naperville, IL and Martha Hood & Chris, Menomonee Falls, WI; 12 Grandchildren; and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Great Grandson - Jeremy Jones,
1 Brother; and 7 Sisters.
