Sally J. Lay, 65 of Ramsey, Illinois died on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Monday, July 29 at First Baptist Church of Ramsey with the Rev. Scott Minix officiating. Interment will follow in Ramsey Cemetery, Ramsey, IL. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 28, 2013, and 1 hr before service on Monday, July 29 at First Baptist Church of Ramsey, Ramsey, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be sent to First Baptist Church Ramsey, IL 62080. Born January 29, 1948 in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of the late Earl and Virginia "Biddy" (Staff) Crabtree. Sally was a member of First Baptist Church of Ramsey; former teacher at Ramsey Elementary School; Ramsey American Legion Auxiliary and was active in Ramsey Community Sale. Surviving are sons, Andy Lay of Ramsey, IL and Tim Lay & Angie of Decatur, IL; daughter, Jill Kircher & Lowell of Collinsville, IL; sister, Sherry Schneider & Drew of Vandalia, IL; sister In-law, Lexie Crabtree of Ramsey, IL; seven grandchildren and several nephews & nieces She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Phillip Crabtree and 1 granddaughter.
