Ruth H. Spurlin, 94, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018, in Fayette County Hospital-Long Term Care, Vandalia, IL.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, March 23, 2018, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Jerry Bagwell, officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Friday, March 23, 2018, at the church. Memorials: Holy Cross Lutheran Church and/or Fayette Co. Hosp. Long Term Care Activity Fund.

She was born August 12, 1923, in Fayette County, IL, the daughter of John Leo & Minnie (Schukar) Wiss. Married Arnold Spurlin, he passed away. She was a retired waitress, working at Robbins Restaurant and several other area restaurants, and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL.

She is survived by: Nieces - Nancy Gebke & Ken, Vandalia, IL and Becky Justad & Paul, Graham, NC; Sister-in-law - Edna Wiss, Vandalia, IL; Step-Son - Tom Spurlin & Donna, Poplar Grove, IL; Many Great Nieces and Nephews, Great-Great Nieces and Nephews, Great Great Great Nieces & Nephews.

Preceded in death by: Parents; and Brother - Herman L. "Bud" Wiss.
