She was born January 11, 1919, in Mulberry Grove, IL, the daughter of Frank Emert & Minnie Myrtle (Dugan)Tompkins. Married Clyde Dean Payne on October 12, 1940, St. Charles, MO., he passed away May 19, 1971. She was a Homemaker and Member of First United Methodist Church, Vernon, IL.

She is survived by: Sons - Edward Payne & Cindy, Sequim, WA; and Frank Payne & JoLynne, Patoka, IL; Grandchildren - Randy, Michelle, Bill, Dana, Anthony & Barry; 8 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Brothers - Horace, Claude, Dugan, Floyd & infant, Lloyd; Sisters - Dorothy Cox and Darlene Eyman; 1 Grandson - Mike Payne.
