Ronald "Ron" E. Rhodes, Sr., 78, of Ramsey, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Rural Ramsey, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Friends and family may gather at the cemetery at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday. Memorials: To the Family. Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL, is in charge of arrangements. Born June 6, 1942, in Joliet, IL, the son of Virgil Otto & Virginia Helen (Hubbs) Rhodes. Married Loretta Mikel on April 25, 1964, in Wilmington, IL. He worked at Johnson & Johnson Factory in Wilmington, IL over 35 year's until he retired; was a former member of the Pentecostal Church and Moose Lodge, both of Wilmington, IL. Ron was very active and loved the outdoors, working on his tractors, gardening, sitting outside with his little best friend, a beloved dog named Richard, and visiting with his family and friends.
Survived by: his Wife of 57 years - Loretta Rhodes, Ramsey, IL; Son - Ronald E. Rhodes, Jr., Ramsey, IL; Daughters - Rhonda Vandiver & Keith, Terry Crawford and Amanda Rhodes, all of Ramsey, IL; Grandchildren - Ashley Lash & Ray, Ramsey, IL, Joe Crawford & Veronica, Coal City, IL, Ronald Rhodes, III & Violet, Ramsey, IL, Joshua Crawford & Lindsey, Pana, IL, and Austin Rhodes & Katy, Joplin, MO; Mother - Virginia Helen Rhodes, Ramsey, IL; Brother - Virgil Rhodes, Jr. & Tammy, Vandalia, IL; Sisters - Alice Williams, and Joyce Milligan & Randy, all of Ramsey, IL, and Shirley Dial & Jim, Tower Hill, IL; Several Great and Great Great Grandchildren; and and Numerous Nephews & Nieces.
Preceded in death by: Father; Father & Mother-in-law - Delbert Mikel & Myrtle; Sister - Doris Heggie; Daughter-in-law - Alvina Rhodes; and Several Brother & Sister In-laws.
