Robert "Bob the Greeter" L. Porter, 71, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 A.M Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Bethel Baptist Church, rural Vandalia, IL, with Dr. Ben Foxworth, officiating. He was a retired Civil Service worker at Scott Airforce Base, formerly worked at Pulsar Plastics, Carlyle, IL and was known and loved by all as "Bob the Greeter" at Wal-Mart, Vandalia, IL. Bob was a U.S. Navy Veteran and member of Bethel Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL. He is survived by: Wife - Claudia Porter, Vandalia, IL; Daughters - Jennifer Roadamer & Paul, Wood River, IL and Tiffany Raine Porter, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Alexis, James, Adam, Kaleb and Finn; and Brother - Denis Porter, Vancouver, WA. Preceded in death by: Parents; and 1 Brother - William "Bill" Porter.
