Rex Eugene "Gene" Fish, 80, of Ramsey, Illinois, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Decatur, IL.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, RFD Ramsey, with Pastor Gregg Shannon, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Rural Ramsey, IL, with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL and 1 hour before service Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Church. Memorials: Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Rural Ramsey, IL.
He was born March 17, 1936, in Ramsey, IL, the son of Joseph Henry & Sarah "Tillie" Matilda (Craig) Fish. Gene was a retired teacher, teaching at Herrick Junior High School for over 30 years and also at Patoka School. He was a Graduate of Purdue, and later received a Masters from S. I. U. E.; Member of Herrick Lions Club; IL Retired Teachers Assn.; Mt. Carmel Baptist Church; Mt. Carmel Cemetery Board; Herrick Community Organization; Supervisor for North Hurricane Twp. and US Army Veteran 1957-1958.
He is survived by: Brother - Wm. "Bill" Fish & Joyce, Bloomington, IL; Sister - Beverly Blackerby, Herrick, IL; and Many Nephews & Nieces.
Preceded in death by: Parents, 3 Brothers & 8 Sisters.
