Peggy Louise (Kaiser) Rikli, 72, of Vandalia, IL passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, peacefully at her home, surrounded by family.
Services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 25, 2024, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL with Rev. Brett Cornelius officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Ramsey, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Additional Visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Friday, October 25, 2025, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Taylor Wollerman Memorial Scholarship, Judevine Center for Autism, St. Louis, Mo, and Tammy Walker Cancer Center, Salina, KS. She was born September 16, 1952, in Goessel, KS, the daughter of Marvin and Bernice (Moss) Kaiser. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Durham, KS, and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield, KS.
She attended St. John's College, Winfield, KS. Where she met her husband, Richard. They were married on May 21, 1978, at St. John's College and blessed with 3 sons Joshua, Daniel, and David.
Peggy enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, cooking, reading, gardening, traveling, playing cards and board games. She also enjoyed traveling, especially with family. Her most memorable trip was a family vacation through South Dakota on the way to Estes Park, CO.
Peggy loved raising "four" boys, being Grandma Red and being a Principal and Pastor's wife. She was one of those people who knew a little bit about everything. Peggy especially enjoyed talking.
Peggy thoroughly loved being involved in the church and the school. To her husband she was that perfect principal and pastor's wife. She was very active in LWML, church choir, and bible study. She was known to spoil the kids at school.
Peggy is survived by: Husband Richard Vandalia, IL, Sons: Joshua (Lisa) Rikli, of Independence, MO, Daniel (Nicolette) Rikli, of Vandalia, IL, David Rikli (Joy) of St. Louis MO; Grandchildren- Makayla Rikli, Mariah Rikli, Marissa Rikli, Elijah Rikli, Isaiah Rikli, Liam Rikli and Camden Rikli; Great-Grandchildren- Tessa, Jazmyne, Ah'lyah; Brothers- Randy (Pat) Kaiser, Winfield, KS, Gordon (Virginia) Kaiser Winfield, KS.
Preceded in death by: Parents, and Barb Kaiser, Sister-in-law, and best friend.
