Norman L. "Lee" Emerick, 77, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 04, 2013, at Effingham, IL. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, November 08, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Pete LeDuc officiating. Burial will follow at McInturff Cemetery, Rural Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 07, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: McInturff Cemetery. Lee was born December 20, 1935, in Seminary Township, Vandalia, IL, the son of Ira E. & Velva Fay (Tharp) Emerick. Married Nina LaVon (Hayes), on May 28, 1955, in St. Elmo, IL. He was a retired salesman for Linkon's Auto Supply, Vandalia, IL,for 40 years and farmer; was a member of NRA and was VCHS Valedictorian & Honor Society. He is survived by: Wife - Nina; Sons - Kent Emerick & Kathy, Vandalia, IL and Keith Emerick & Becky, Brownstown, IL; Daughter - Kristi Hunt, Highland, IL; Brother - Frank Emerick & Betty, Vandalia, IL; Sisters - Erma Lockart, Kansas City, MO & Nell Gelsinger, Pana, IL; 8 Grandchildren; & 11Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by: Parents; Grandson - Doug Emerick; & 3 Brothers - Bob, Charles & Glenn.
