Nina LaVon Emerick, 87, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023, at SBL Fayette County Hospital LTC in Vandalia, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 2, 2023, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Greg LeDuc officiating. Burial will follow at McInturff Cemetery, Rural Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, October 2, 2023, one and a half hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials: McInturff Cemetery. She was born September 12, 1936, in Shafter, IL, the daughter of Raymond Thomas & Velma Marie (Thacker) Hayes Austin. She married Norman Lee Emerick on May 28, 1955, in St. Elmo, IL. He passed away on November 4, 2013. She worked at Orgill Inc. as a clerk for 28 1/2 years, and was a member of the Vandalia Women's Bowling Assoc. and the American Legion Bowling Team.
She is survived by: Sons - Kent Emerick & Kathy, Vandalia, IL and Keith Emerick & Becky, Brownstown, IL; Daughter - Kristi Emerick, Vandalia, IL; 10 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; and Brother - Elvin Hayes, Greenville, IL.
Preceded in death by: Her Parents; Husband; Grand Child - Doug Emerick; 1 Brother; and 2 Sisters.
