Melvin G. Willms, 64, of Brownstown, IL, died on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at his home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Liberty Christian Church, Rural Brownstown, IL, with Pastor John Robinson & Pastor Steve Storm officiating. Burial will follow at Griffith Cemetery in rural Brownstown, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, January 13, 2012 and 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2012 (1 hour before the Service) both at Liberty Christian Church, rural Brownstown, IL. Memorials: Gideons International and/or First Christian Church, Brownstown, IL and/or Brownstown Park District. Melvin was born on March 11, 1947, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Gerald Eugene and Norma Virginia (Jones) Willms. He married Karen E. Chaplin on July 6, 1996 in Brownstown, IL. Melvin was the Owner/Operator of Brownstown Lumber, a member of Gideons International & First Christian Church, Brownstown, IL. He is survived by Wife, Karen Willms of Brownstown, IL; Mother, Norma Willms of Effingham, IL; 4 Sons: Tony Willms of North Carolina, Tucker Willms at home, James Schaible of Brownstown, IL & Rick Willms of Decatur, IL; 3 Daughters: Marni Willms of Vermont, Courtney Donovan of Georgia & Gretchen Smith of Charleston, IL; 3 Brothers: Paul " Whitey" Willms & Susan of Shobonier, IL, Joe Willms & Friend, Aileen of Vandalia, IL, & John Willms & Kathy of Brownstown, IL; 4 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild and Several Nephews & Nieces. He is preceded in death by his Father.
