Marie A. Ernst, 94, of Vandalia, IL, formerly of Ramsey, died on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Fayette Co. Hospital, LTC, in Vandalia, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ramsey, IL, with the Rev. Father Joseph Havrilka, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Ramsey, IL. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 26, 2013, with a Prayer Service at 5 p.m., at Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL. Memorials: St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ramsey. She was born on September 30, 1918, in Vera, IL, the daughter of Nicholas and Nellie (Miller) Thull. She married Charles "Chuck" Winfield Ernst on September 3, 1949, in Ramsey, IL. He passed away on August 14, 1985. She was a retired Nurse, a member of Mothers of Dolors Catholic Church, Vandalia and Fayette County Hospital Auxiliary. Marie is survived by Son: Michael Ernst, Carterville, IL; Daughter: Nancy Ernst, Manitowoc, WI; One Grandchild: 2 Brothers: Vincent Thull, Vandalia, IL & Nicholas Thull, Wyoming, MI; and Sister: Lena Pickowitz, North Ft. Myers, FL.; Several Nephews & Nieces. Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; 5 Brothers: Charles, Anthony, John, Albert & Raymond; 3 Sisters: Adeline Reardon, Barbara Thull & Louise Koehler.
