Marie Davis, age 89, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Marie was born May 27, 1936 in Northern Illinois, the daughter of Irvin Sasse and Pauline (Davis) Sasse. She worked for the last 20 years in the cafeteria at Fayette County Hospital. She enjoyed watching the cardinals, bowling, and playing pool.

She is survived by her children; Billye Plunkett, Barbara (Jim) Clem, and Brenda Dunaway, her grandchildren; James Clem, Mandy Durbin, Randi King, Sammi Baumann, Desiree Baumann, Jamie Brooks, Aubrey Thomas, Daniel Edwards, and Colton Edwards, and 17 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and the love of her life; Darrell.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at McInturff Cemetery in Vandalia, IL. A visitation will be held Monday, November 24, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, IL. Memorials can be made out to Shriners Hospitals for Children and the American Diabetes Association. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL is in charge of arrangements.
