Lonnie Whipple, 83, of Saint Elmo, Illinois, formerly of Shobonier, IL passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Aperion Care in St. Elmo, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 3, 2024, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Pete LeDuc officiating. Burial will follow at Farmers Cemetery, Rural Shobonier, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the service time at 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. He was born February 9, 1941, in Edwardsville, IL, the son of Oscar & Nora (Collins) Whipple. He married Mary C. Cook in 1969 in Watson, IL. He worked as a pumper for a septic tank company; he loved going to Cardinal Games and mushroom hunting.

He is survived by: Wife - Mary C. Whipple, Vandalia, IL; Daughters - Thelma Rose Miller, Vandalia, IL, Beverly Beck, Shobonier, IL; and Cynthia Geiger & Gary, Mulberry Grove, IL; Grandchildren - Kayla Beck, Micheal Miller, Kirstie Smith & Jo, Kim Brewer & Dustin, Gage Blankenship & Nicole, Destyni Henrichs & Chopper, Bell Rogers, Andrew Geiger & Lora, Kim Stark & Trent, and Kyle Geiger; Many Great Grandchildren; Sisters - Betty Blake, Ponchatoula, LA and Ollie Fulcher, Dawson Springs, KY; Sisters-in-law - Cathy Landreth, Pam Loy & Jeff, and Barb Landreth & Joe; Many Nieces & Nephews; Special Companion - Jayla.
