Lisa Dawn Earnest, 55, of Vandalia, formerly of Sorento, passed away on Sun., June 30, 2019. She was born October 2, 1963 in Litchfield, the daughter of Donald Ray "Buster" & Donna Jean (Griffiths) File. Lisa graduated from Greenville High School with the Class of 1981 and obtained her Master's Degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. She was employed by the Vandalia Post Office as a rural carrier for several years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling, bicycle riding, crocheting and was recently learning Spanish. She had a new-found love for traveling the world and experiencing life through another's view. She loved her dogs, watching Vanderbilt bowling & her beloved Chicago Cubs. Lisa had many friends that she enjoyed spending time with but she especially loved her family. She married Larry Joseph Earnest on Sept. 28, 1984 in Sorento. Together they previously owned and operated The Vandalia Bowl. He survives. She is also survived by:
2 daughters: Josie (Kyle) Barnes; Jessica Earnest (companion, Ethan) ALL of Nashville, TN

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Euell "Doc" & Dorothy Griffiths; paternal grandparents, Clarence "Bud" & Mae File; mother-in-law, Betty Earnest; brother-in-law, Kurt Heflin.
Funeral services will be held on Sat., July 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the services. The family suggests memorials to the Second Chance Animal Shelter in Vandalia. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements, with the assistance of Miller Funeral Homes.
