Leona Mae Kluthe, 98, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

She was born June 30, 1925, in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Percy Lee & Ruth Hazel (MacHafee) Allen. She married Galen G. Mundy in 1942 and later married Merle Glenn Kluthe on December 8, 1961, he passed away January 9, 2021. She was a Homemaker and former member of Fayette County Home Extension. Leona enjoyed sewing, reading, helping on the farm and most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by: Daughters - Gloria Mundy, Springfield, IL, Linda Pugh & Mark, Mulberry Grove, IL, JoAnne Dykeman, Peoria, IL and Patsy Eskridge, Galesburg, IL; Sons - Butch Mundy, Galesburg, IL and Robert Mundy & Barbara, Quad Cities, IA; 14 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren; and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: Her Parents; Husband; 3 Infant Daughters; 3 Brothers; 2 Sisters; and 2 Grandchildren - Brandy Tillman and Gloria Eskridge.
