He was born October 11, 1938, in Chicago, IL, the son of Roy & Wilna May (Bridenthall) Springsteen. Married Darlene Viola Cravens, October 22, 1960, in Oak Forest, IL. He was a retired tool & dye maker, later employed as a Product Engineer for Bimba Co., Monee, IL, and affiliated with the Lutheran Faith.

He is survived by: Wife - Darlene Springsteen, Vandalia, IL; Sons - Kenneth Springsteen, Jr. & Jennifer, Homewood, IL and Tim Springsteen & Denise, Fort Pierce, FL; Daughters - Terry Bonk & Bob, Whitewater, WI and Kim Casiano, Fort Pierce, FL; 12 Grandchildren - Melissa & Eric, Jason, Brandon & Molly, Courtney & Sean, Tyler & Katie, Blake, Seth and Ben; 5 Great Grandchildren - Kaleb, Bella, Bria, Hayes and Isla; Brother - Ronald Springsteen & Jutta, Colorado Springs, CO; Sister - Donna Kowalski & Steve, Posen, IL.
