Kenneth E. Lay, 86, of Ramsey, IL, died on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Fayette Co. Hospital, LTC in Vandalia, IL. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 18, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Ramsey, IL with Rev. Norris Price and Rev. Scott Minix officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, in Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL and 1 hour before service at the church. Memorials: First Baptist Church, Ramsey, IL and/or Baptist Children's Home, Carmi, IL. Kenneth was born on December 28, 1924, in Ramsey, IL, the son of John M. and Jennie E. (Hammer) Lay. He married Shirley A. Marsh on October 26, 1947 in Decatur, IL. He was a retired Farmer, a member of Vera Baptist Church, Vera, IL & a 50 year member of Temperance Lodge #16, A.F. & A.M., Vandalia,IL and Past President & member of Ramsey School Board; CEFS board member & Fayette Co. Civil Defense. He is survived by wife: Shirley Lay, 4 Sons: Steve Lay & Jennifer; Jim Lay & Debbie; Brad Lay & Julie; Brian Lay & Michele, all of Ramsey, IL. 1Daughter: Vicki Anderson & Jim of Edwardsville, IL; 1 Sister: Pat McCongia of Fort Wayne, IN 16 Grandchildren & 14 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Granddaughter, 1 Brother, Kermit & 3 Sisters, Lois Dooley, Mildred Tate & Gertie Funderburk.
