Karen R. Cothern, 69, of Vandalia, IL, formerly of Ramsey, IL, died Sunday, January 17, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.

In keeping with Mrs. Cothern's wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation Rites will be accorded. Memorials: American Legion Auxiliary, Vandalia, IL.

She was born November 05, 1946, in Herrick, IL, the Daughter of Kenneth E. and Ina Mae Sarver Blackerby. She married Gary R. Cothern on November 16, 1963, in Ramsey, IL, he passed away November 10, 2015. She was formerly employed @ Mallory, Pana, IL; a member of Church of Christ, Herrick, IL and American Legion Auxiliary, Vandalia, IL.

She is survived by: Son - Brent Cothern & Milene, Vandalia, IL; Sister - Patty Blackerby, Houston, TX; Grandchildren - Megan Westendorf & Tyler, Vandalia, IL and Haley Cothern & fiancee Dathan Berning, Vandalia, IL;
1 Great Grandson - Hunter Westendorf.
