Joshua Steven Kern, 46, of Colp, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at his home in Colp, IL.

Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials: Taylor Cemetery, rural Vandalia, IL. He was born October 20, 1975, in Lansing, MI, the son of Morris Steven & Teri Dale (Sugg) Kern. He worked for THAM Signs Co., Marion, IL, as a Graphic Designer. Josh liked collecting and shooting guns and was passionate for Marvel Comics, especially Superman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and close college friends and most of all he loved his children.

He is survived by: His Parents - Steven Kern & Teri, Iuka, IL; Son - Drystan Kern and Daughter - Lexie Kern, both of Carbondale, IL; Grandmother - Lenora "Lee" Kern, Odin, IL; Sister - Becky Zinzilieta & Ross, Mt. Vernon, IL; Nephews - Max and Alex Zinzilieta; and Aunt - Cherylee Bridges & Sam, Rochester, IL.

Preceded in death by: Paternal Grandfather - Morris Kern and Maternal Grandparents - Dale and Nelda Sugg.
