Obituary

Johnathan Garrett Kirchner, age 32 of Hillsboro, IL, passed away due to a tragic motorcycle accident on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL.

Johnathan was born November 2, 1993 in Astoria, Oregon. He was the son of Calvin Hill and Terrisa Kirchner. Johnathan was a truck driver, most recently working for Donnewald Distributing in Greenville, IL. He attended Nokomis Schools. Johnathan loved being outdoors and enjoyed going to the river, fishing, hunting, throwing axes and knives, planting flowers, and going to get a Christmas tree every year. He was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to audiobooks. He loved music, animals, and he loved Jesus. One of his favorite hobbies was tie dying. He would tie dye anything and everything he could, and it was something he enjoyed doing with his family. Johnathan especially loved his kids and his family and loved spending time with them.

He is survived by his mom, Terrisa Kirchner; children, Kylee Kirchner, Zachariah Kirchner, Elijah Kirchner, and Amya Grace; his siblings, Jovana Jacobson, Kenneth Law, Malaina (Ryan) McNeill, Mariah Kirchner, and Kaden (Lydia) Kirchner; grandfather, Pete Winters; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Hill; his grandparents, Opal Lawrence, Neil Kirchner, and Dixie Winters; his adopted grandmother, Linda Arndt; and his beloved dog, Zepplin.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Grace Baptist Church in Nokomis, IL. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, also at the church.
