Pearl Joann McCarty, 88, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Willowbrook Memory Care in Vandalia, IL.

Private Family Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Parkview Free Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL, with Dr. Ward Sussenbach and Pastor Ana Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown, IL. Private Family Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 14, 2021, 1 hour prior to the service at the church. She was born December 30, 1932, in Loogootee, IL, the daughter of Noah & Pearl Mary (Jackson) Tackett. Married Jimmy Lee McCarty on May 24, 1953, in Brownstown, IL, he passed away November 13, 2018. She was a retired beautician and homemaker; and a member of Parkview Free Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL. Joann loved to work in her garden and spend time with her family.

She is survived by: Sons - Tom McCarty & Marcie and Ed McCarty & Kathy, all of Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Megan McCarty, Dana Peck & Christian, Josh McCarty & Andria and Kari Fulk & Dustin; and Great Grandchildren - Brenton, Everlie, Quinn and Daxton.

Preceded in death by: Her parents; Husband; and Brothers - Ed, Noah, Glenn & Dale.
